بوریک اسید یک اسید ضعیف به شکل بلورهای بی رنگ یا گاهی پودر سفید رنگ است. فرمول شیمیایی این ماده H3BO3 می باشد و برای تهیه ی محلول های شیمیایی متفاوت با درصد اسیدیته مختلف مورد استفاده قرار می گیرد. اسید بوریک و نمک های آن در آب دریا و تقریباً همه میوه ها یافت می شود.
